Sayaji Shinde is an Indian actor known for his work in Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Bhojpuri films, as well as Marathi plays. Born on January 13, 1959, in Sakharwadi, Satara District, Maharashtra, he began his acting career in 1978 with Marathi one-act plays. He gained recognition for his performance in the 1987 Marathi play “Zulva” and went on to establish himself as a talented actor.

Sayaji made his debut in Marathi cinema with the film “Aboli” in 1995. He received acclaim for his roles in Marathi plays such as “Sakharam Binder,” “Zulva,” “One Room Kitchen,” and “Amchya ya gharat.” His portrayal of the Agricultural Minister in the movie “Goshta Chhoti Dongara Evadhi” was highly appreciated. His talent caught the attention of Hindi actor Manoj Bajpai, who recommended Sayaji to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma.

Sayaji’s Bollywood debut came with the film “Shool,” in which he played the role of Bachhu Yadav. However, it was his performance in the Tamil film “Barathi” that garnered him immense recognition. Despite not speaking Tamil, Sayaji portrayed the renowned poet and writer Subramanya Bharathi and received the Tamil Nadu State Award for his portrayal. He continued to work in Tamil films, including “Azhagi” and “Dhool.”
