Blaaze, born on Vijaya Dashami day in 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is a rapper and playback singer known for his work in the Indian film industry. Born into a Brahmin family, he grew up in Kitwe, Zambia, where his family traveled due to his father’s architectural work. At a young age, Blaaze developed a passion for performing, starting with breakdancing on his father’s designed sets when he was just nine years old.

His musical journey began with rap, and at the age of 16, he performed for President Chiluba of Zambia during an election campaign. Shortly after, he produced and performed in Zambia’s first-ever music video, “Advice 4 Livin’,” in collaboration with the Zambian national broadcasting corporation.

In 2002, Blaaze made his entry into the Indian film industry when acclaimed composer A.R. Rahman chose him to sing the “Baba Rap” for Rajinikanth’s film “Baba.” This collaboration marked the beginning of Blaaze’s successful career in the Tamil cinema. He continued to work frequently with Rahman, lending his voice to songs in films like “Kangalal Kaidhu Sei,” “Boys,” “Enakku 20 Unakku 18,” “New,” “Aayutha Ezhuthu,” and “Anbe Aaruyire.”
