Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble, widely known as “Jumbo,” is a former Indian cricketer and one of the greatest spin bowlers in the history of the game. Born on October 17, 1970, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Kumble made significant contributions to Indian cricket during his illustrious career.

 

Kumble’s leg-spin bowling was characterized by his accuracy, variations, and ability to extract turn and bounce from any surface. He is the highest wicket-taker for India in Test matches, with an impressive tally of 619 wickets. Kumble achieved numerous milestones, including becoming only the second bowler in history to claim all ten wickets in a Test innings, accomplishing this feat against Pakistan in 1999.
