Anusha Mani

Playback Female Singer

Anusha Mani is an Indian playback singer known for her work in the Bollywood film industry. Born on March 29, 1985, she comes from a musically-inclined family and received training in Carnatic music from Smt. Meera Nathan. Anusha began her singing career by performing in Gujarati plays and later collaborated with Amit Trivedi on a music album, although it was never released.

In 2007, Anusha Mani got her big break when Shankar Mahadevan of the music trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy offered her the opportunity to sing the track “Dhoka” from the film “Johnny Gaddaar.” This marked the beginning of her association with the trio, and she has worked on about six albums with them to date. Anusha gained recognition for her song “Dil Mein Jaagi” from the film “Dev.D,” for which she not only provided vocals but also wrote the lyrics. The song won Amit Trivedi the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.

Apart from her film projects, Anusha Mani has also performed concerts with various musicians. She contributed the song “Lehrein,” written by Javed Akhtar, to the film “Aisha.” In addition to her musical endeavors, Anusha appeared on the TV show “MTV Angels of Rock,” where she embarked on a road trip alongside other talented female artists such as Shalmali Kholgade, Jasmine Sandlas, and Akasa Singh. The show aimed to inspire women across the nation through their original compositions.
