Rupali Ganguly

Television Female Actor

Rupali Ganguly is an Indian actress, born on April 5, 1977, in Kolkata, West Bengal. She comes from a family with a background in the film industry, as her father, Anil Ganguly, was a director and screenwriter, and her brother Vijay Ganguly is an actor-producer.

 

Rupali started her acting career at a young age, making her debut in her father’s film “Saaheb” in 1985. She later ventured into television, gaining recognition for her role as Dr. Simran Chopra in the medical drama series “Sanjivani” on Star Plus in 2002. However, she achieved significant fame with her portrayal of Monisha Sarabhai in the popular sitcom “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” (2004), where she received critical acclaim for her performance.

 

Over the years, Rupali has appeared in several successful television series, including “Baa Bahoo Aur Baby” (2005) and “Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi” (2011). After taking a break from acting, she made a comeback in 2020 with the soap opera “Anupamaa,” in which she portrays the titular character. The show has garnered immense popularity and has been well-received by the audience.

 

In addition to her television career, Rupali has also participated in reality shows like “Bigg Boss 1” in 2006 and “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 2” in 2009. She even lent her voice for an animation film called “Dashavatar” in 2008. In 2022, she made her digital debut with the prequel web series of “Anupamaa” called “Anupama: Namaste America,” which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
